E-signatures
my-id.ca includes electronic signatures in both directions. Documents sent to you arrive in your Sign inbox; documents you send out get recipients, placed fields, and a tracked signing process. Signing something sent to you is always free and never metered. Because the same account stores your profile, the form is usually already filled before it reaches the signature step.
They open an emailed link, verify with a one-time code sent to that same address, consent to signing electronically, complete their fields, and finish. No sign-up, no install. They can also decline, and you are told.
Most documents that need a signature also need to be completed. Fill the PDF from your saved profile, review every field, then send it for signature without leaving the account or re-uploading anything.
When the last recipient signs, my-id.ca produces a cryptographically sealed PDF plus a separate certificate of completion listing who signed, when, and from where — alongside a full activity trail from created through sent, opened, signed, and sealed.
Choose parallel signing, where everyone is invited at once and can sign in any order, or sequential signing, where each recipient is invited only after the previous one has signed. Add yourself as a signer and choose whether you go first or last.
Documents and signatures are hosted in Canada, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. AI processing that touches your data runs on my-id.ca infrastructure rather than third-party AI providers.
Signing a document someone sent you is free and unlimited. Sending your own signature requests is included on the free plan up to five per month, and is unlimited on Plus at $5 a month.
Electronic signatures are recognised under Canadian federal and provincial electronic-commerce legislation for most everyday agreements. For anything consequential, confirm the requirements with the party asking for the signature.
Yes. my-id.ca does not support signing wills, codicils, powers of attorney, or land-registration and title documents. These carry formal execution requirements that an ordinary electronic signature does not satisfy.
Signature, initials, date signed, name, free text, and checkbox — each assigned to a specific recipient, so everyone only completes what is theirs.
Yes. Void the envelope and recipients who have not signed can no longer act on it. Anything already signed stays in the activity record.
