Features

Fill it, sign it, store it, share it — from one profile

my-id.ca is a Canadian app that stores your details once and reuses them everywhere: job applications, rentals, government PDFs, healthcare intake, school portals. It also signs documents, keeps your records searchable, and gives you an assistant that works on your own data. Free to start, no credit card.

Fill

Fill anything without retyping

The core loop: store your details once, then put them onto whatever form is in front of you — a website, a fillable PDF, or a sheet of paper.

Autofill web forms with one click

The my-id.ca autofill Chrome extension suggests your saved values when you focus a field on job, rental, school, insurance, and other web forms. Per-site opt-in: it stays idle until you turn it on for that website.

Use autofill on websites

Fill PDF forms from your saved profile

Upload a PDF with form fields and my-id.ca maps your profile onto the matching fields so you can download a filled copy without retyping. Review every field before you save or send.

Fill PDF with your saved profile

Fill paper forms from a photo

Snap a photo of a paper form. my-id.ca extracts the field labels, matches them to your profile, and produces a filled draft you can review and print, share, or save.

Fill from photo

Personal templates for forms you repeat

Turn a form you fill every few months into a reusable template, so the next one starts from where you left off instead of from blank.

Store

One trusted place for personal records

Keep IDs, scans, household details, and the facts you reach for every few months in one app you trust, instead of searching old email or camera rolls.

Build your profile fast with CV or LinkedIn import

Upload a CV (PDF or DOCX) or import from LinkedIn so your profile is ready in minutes instead of an hour of typing.

Upload your CV and review

Files and documents in one account

Files holds your raw uploads — scans, photos, exports. My Documents holds the things you have filled, are filling, or have signed. Both searchable, both yours.

Notes for everything that is not a form field

A private scratchpad with rich text, pinning, and instant search — case numbers, questions for an appointment, anything you need for a few weeks and then never again.

Family details, not just your own

Spouse, children, and emergency contacts live alongside your own record, so a form that asks about your household can be filled from the same profile.

What's inside your account

Sign

Sign and get signatures

Electronic signatures are built in, in both directions — and the free plan includes five signature requests a month.

Sign documents sent to you

Open the emailed link, verify with a one-time code, apply your saved signature, and finish. No account needed to sign, and signing is always free.

Sign documents electronically

Send a PDF for signature

Add recipients, choose whether they sign at once or in order, place signature, initials, date, name, text, and checkbox fields, then send. Track who has opened and who has signed.

Send a document for signature

Sealed, tamper-evident results

When everyone has signed, you get a cryptographically sealed PDF plus a separate certificate of completion listing who signed, when, and from where.

Assist

An assistant that knows your paperwork

Most AI chats know the world and nothing about you. This one is the opposite — it works on the contents of your own account, and confirms with you before it changes anything.

Ask questions about your own data

Ask when a document expires, what your policy number is, or when you last changed your address, and get the value back instead of a pile of links to search through.

Ask the assistant about your own data

Attach a document and let it file itself

Attach a photo of an ID, a receipt, or a PDF form. The assistant reads it, shows you exactly what it proposes to store or fill, and writes nothing until you accept.

What the assistant can do

Search every field you have ever saved

Global search covers documents, files, and templates — and the field names and field values inside them. Search for a phone number rather than for the document that contains it.

Find anything you've stored

Organise

Stay ahead of dates and deadlines

Paperwork has dates attached. These features exist so a permit that lapses or a renewal you forgot stops being a surprise.

Calendar with two-way Google sync

Appointments, deadlines, birthdays, and recurring renewals in month or agenda view. Connect Google Calendar and events flow both ways.

Calendar and Google Calendar sync

Life Line — your records as a timeline

Four visual timelines built automatically from data already in your account, with flags for documents expiring in the next six months. Nothing to enter.

The four Life Line views

Optional trackers for jobs and receipts

Turn on a job-application tracker or a receipt tracker in Settings when you need them, and they appear in your sidebar. Off by default.

Share

Share on your terms, and keep the receipts

Nothing leaves your account unless you send it. Everything that does is logged in one place you can check.

Document sharing without email back-and-forth

When a realtor, lawyer, or other professional sends you a request, approve it in the app and the filled documents go to them directly. No attachments, no chasing.

When you receive a request

A full record of what you shared

Sharing history shows what left your account, who received it, and when — so "did I already send that?" has an answer.

Message the business directly

Questions about a request go in a real-time conversation attached to it, instead of scattering across email and text.

Chatting with a business

No account? A guest link still works

A business can send you a guest link that lets you upload what they asked for without signing up. Register later with the same email and everything you sent becomes yours.

Protect

Security you can actually turn on

Storing your details in one place only makes sense if that place is defensible. These are the controls, not the marketing.

Passkeys and two-factor authentication

Sign in with a passkey — your device, your fingerprint or face, no password to phish — or add an authenticator app for two-factor authentication.

High security and your account

Encryption at rest, TLS in transit

Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and every request between your browser, the API, and internal AI services uses TLS.

Your data and privacy

Export, correct, or delete your data

PIPEDA-aligned data requests: get a copy of what is stored, fix what is wrong, or delete the account outright.

Not sure where to start?

Most people use three things and ignore the rest until they need them: import your profile, install the extension, fill one PDF. The feature guides walk through every screen in the app, one guide per feature.

Built for the forms Canadians actually fill

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use the Chrome extension to use my-id.ca?

No. You can fill PDFs and paper forms (from a photo), sign documents, and use everything else entirely inside the web app at my-id.ca. The Chrome extension is only for autofilling web forms on other sites.

Does my-id.ca send my data to third-party AI providers?

No. All AI extraction and form-mapping that touches your data runs on servers my-id.ca operates. See the Trust page for the full breakdown.

Is my information encrypted?

Yes. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and every request between your browser, the API, and internal AI services uses TLS.

Can I sign documents and send them for signature?

Both. Signing a document someone sent you is free and unlimited. Sending your own signature requests is included on the free plan up to five per month, and is unlimited on Plus.

What does the AI assistant actually do?

It answers questions about the data in your own account, finds your files, fills an attached PDF, reads a photo of an ID or receipt and files it, and creates notes and calendar events. Anything that writes to your account shows a confirmation card first, and nothing is saved until you accept.

How much does my-id.ca cost?

There is a free plan you can sign up for without a credit card. Paid plans unlock more storage and higher usage limits.
